Can a Lactation Consultant help with bottle skills?
-
Yes! Many breast/chestfeeding families use bottles to feed their babies at some point in their feeding plan. Some families face issues such as bottle refusal or bottle aversion. I have taken additional training courses on bottle feeding and bottle refusal, and can help families navigate these issues.
-
Bottle consultations can be conducted in your home or virtually.
-
All bottle consultations include:
-
A full assessment of your baby's oral function and feeding history to help determine factors that may be contributing to bottle difficulties.
-
Individualized bottle recommendation.
-
Creation of a care plan with individualized exercises to improve your baby's bottle skills, and instructions on introducing (or re-introducing!) the bottle.
-
Can you help with tongue-tie?
-
Yes! Navigating treatment of tethered oral tissues (such as tongue-tie and lip-tie) can be complex and overwhelming. I have taken numerous additional training courses on tethered oral tissues and have assisted many families with this issue. I can provide you with support and guidance throughout the entire process.
